About Neo

Neo was born on  January 6^th  1994 in  Germany.

At present Neo attends  high-school in Switzerland and he is preparing for his A-level exams soon.

One of his main focuses in school is music, especially solo voice.

Neo’s talent for singing was discovered by his former teacher Antonio Mele. He convinced him to do his first solo performance in 2010 at closing ceremony at school in Mellingen.

Neo used to be rather shy and he disliked exposing himself singing in public.

His performance was a great success and boosted his self-confidence significantly.

As an expression of his new self, Nicolas decided to change his name to Neo, as an expression of his new self.

Later Neo qualified for “Promotion program for High Talented Musicians”, for which only 10 students per year are entitled to. Neo gets vocal and piano lessons and is also encouraged in other musical activities.

Neo has a small recording studio at home, where he produces most of his You Tube covers. Audio Engineering is Neo’s great hobby, he acquired his knowledge all on his own. Neo is a maniac in his recording studio. It’s very important to him to work out the individual sound of his voice. So any money the youngstar saves, he spends on equipment to improve his sound.

In addition to producing songs, Neo’s also editing videos to go alongside his songs on YouTube.

Summer 2012 Neo decided to apply for „The Voice of Germany“. After three rounds of competition in Berlin, Neo was able to compete against 20.000 competitors and went through to the “Blind Auditions” on TV.

When the good news reached Neo on vacation, he could hardly believe it.

Neo’s goal in Berlin was to convince at least one coach to buzzer for him. With his very emotional performance of „Mad World“ he not only enchanted one, but all four coaches.

Coach Xavier Naidoo’s comment on Neo performance: “Go ahead singing like this and you gonna win the show!” Neo was totally overwhelmed by the coaches comments. Finally he chose Nena as his coach.

During the “Battles” Neo successfully competed against his very talented partner Laura Buschhagen singing „Wish you were here“ by Pink Floyd.

So far the interpretation has more than 200'000 views on YouTube and has been one of the most successful tracks of the whole series.

Neo is currently working on his debut album.
